Sabah Al Salem University City was first announced in 1966 and now it is seeing the light. The project covers a plot area of 6 million square meters and will house more than 20,000 students studying in 9 colleges. One major factor delayed the completion of the project since construction commenced in 2009 is the development of two complexes per study specialty due to the gender segregation law in Kuwait. This law also almost doubled the development cost of the project. The colleges are: 1- College of Architecture 2- College of Computer and Engineering Sciences 3- College of Art 4- College of Education 5- College of Business 6- College of Women 7- College of Engineering and Petroleum 8- College of Science 9- College of Social Science, Shari’a Law
