Jeddah Islamic Port

The port has gained a historical value, due to the fact that Jeddah city is the main gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. It is the largest port in terms of volume and cargo handling capacity, as it handles more than 65% of all cargoes imported through Saudi ports. Jeddah Islamic Port covers today an area of 12.5 square kilometers, the port is also equipped with more than 1752 new cargo handling equipment. After the establishment of Saudi Ports Authority in 1976, the developing of Jeddah Islamic Port and its facilities was started.
