Tom and James Monaghan established the first Domino’s Pizza store in 1960 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The brand rapidly grew to become one of the largest pizza home delivery businesses worldwide. Tom Monaghan retired in 1998 and decided to sell 93% of the company to Bain Capital for USD 1 billion. The company is now operating in more than 73 countries worldwide with almost 11,000 stores as of the end of 2014.
