Kuwait London General Trading and Contracting Company

General

Kuwait London Company (KLC) was established in 2008, bringing you the best in the food industry with dining establishments strategically located throughout the best locations in Kuwait and an exceptional food delivery service since 2009. As opposed to franchising, we developed and built our brands locally. All four of our concepts are entirely conceived and operated by an experienced in-house team of culinary, managerial and technical experts. With a total of twelve innovative and delectable food outlets across Kuwait, we are poised to become the largest group of local delivery concepts in Kuwait and our delivery network is growing faster every day. Currently boasting a team of more than 200 employees, the busy bees at all of our KLC concepts are working hard towards bringing you the greatest variety of eateries for your enjoyment. Our ethos is simple – to offer our valued diners the freshest and highest quality ingredients possible used in all of our delicious dishes, whether you dine at any of our establishments, or you choose to have your food promptly delivered to your door.

A Conversation with Kuwait London Company – Part 2

In our previous introduction to Kuwait London Company, Kuwait’s local leading food delivery company, we met the visionary CEO, Mubarak Jaffar and discovered how he’s founded and developed The Kitchen, Junkyard, Humble Burgers, and Proper Sliders. As four renowned home-grown Kuwaiti concepts, it’s striking to observe how they’ve each developed their own identity whilst maintaining the company’s core value of fresh produce delivered right to your door. An element of the company that allows them to ensure every step of the process is top notch, is the fact that each brand is home grown from their headquarters. With complete control over each restaurant from conception to development and finally execution, KLC even creates the branding for each concept in-house. Mubarak’s concepts are each borne from his love of traveling and food. With his talented in-house designer, he works closely to ensure the packaging and interior truly reflect the atmosphere of the brand. Their creativity knows no bounds, his team keep developing the menus visually, continuing to expand and develop their own skills and knowledge. Their success comes from their attention to detail, which is truly reflected through the different atmospheres each brand has. Junkyard’s edgy, urban style packaging truly captures their ability to recreate street food classics while humble burger’s more simple style allows for the characteristic of its name to shine, though; simply good burgers. Proper Sliders, on the other hand, is fun and quirky, with the menu being sliders executed in a variety of ways this is exactly how the branding reflects the restaurant’s theme – one fluid style manipulated into different variations. The brands each have their own quirky character, attracting different audiences to ensure everyone finds something they love from KLC.

potato-skin-chicken-tender A Conversation with Kuwait London Company: Part 1

Sitting with Kuwait London Company’s Co-Founder and CEO, Mubarak Jaffar, makes it easy to understand how, at just 26, he’s established Kuwait’s leading delivery restaurants. His relaxed demeanor and clarity of vision have seen him launch four successful food delivery brands, however, many won’t know the brands I am about to speak of are under the same umbrella. Yet The Kitchen, Junkyard, Humble Burgers, and Proper Sliders are now household names. Having hit 1,000 daily deliveries earlier this year, his family is most well known for having turned Talabat into Kuwait’s most successful company when earlier in 2015 it sold for a reported 170 Million Dollars. Alongside his father, Chairman Nabil Jaffar, and brother Mohammed Jaffar, former CEO of Talabat and a KLC board member, Mubarak is applying the depth of knowledge and market experience earned from their previous venture, into their group holding. Having kept his head down for the last few years, as he focused on building his quadruplet of brands under the Kuwait London Company, Mubarak is ready to reveal how he’s built Kuwait London Company into four successful brands. His vision was simple; create high-quality products using fresh ingredients and delivery directly to homes across the country. With Mohammed having set up with The Kitchen in 2009, with a menu of tasty, home-cooked continental food was a happy success. Despite Kuwait only having a small delivery market at the time, Mubarak had found a niche and was able to combine results from The Kitchen with knowledge from Talabat to launch Junkyard, American street food, in 2012 amidst the international street food craze at the time. The next two ventures followed in quick succession; Humble Burgers opened in 2014, followed by Proper Sliders in 2015. Kuwait London Company now has 12 outlets across Kuwait and strives to lead in the home delivery market by local concepts. In this online series, we’ll discover more about these homegrown concepts, how KLC has been able to lead in deliveries, the team behind the brands, and why location is as important as quality.
