Kayan International Restaurant For Food Management Company is the agent for SmashBurger in Kuwait in 2012 in the Village in Abu Alhasania. The operator, Kayan, plans to operate 10 locations in Kuwait by the end of 2015. Kayan has the rights to SmashBurger in Kuwait only whereas the Saudi operation is managed by Al Taqa Alia Company. Kayan International’s operation is limited SmashBurger in Kuwait. The owner however, Yousef Shamlan AlEssa, is the chairman of MESK Holdings of Bahrain. MESK operates several foodservice brands in the GCC such as Aroma Café, Block 338, The Meat Co., and Bohemia. It is worth to note that Slider Station was added to Mesk’s brands in 2015 which is expected to open in 2016 in Bahrain.
