The announcement of the merger between APL and CNC, effective from 01/Jan/2019.
Wednesday, December 19, 2018 Dear customers To facilitate ease of shipping with CMA CGM Group, we are streamlining the number of carriers i.e. legal entities in our Group for Asia. From 1 January 2019, all Intra-Asia activities of our Group will be concentrated under the “CNC” brand to be operated by APL Co. Pte. Ltd from Singapore. In Taiwan, CMA CGM (Taiwan) Ltd. is nominated as the agent for the carrier American President Lines, LLC (APL) to handle all of the existing CNC sector lines of businesses whereas APL Taiwan will continue to handle all of its existing Short-Sea services & businesses without change. By integrating APL as the carrier and keeping CNC as the brand name, it sure will help CMA CGM to expand her extensive reach to the Intra-Asia markets in depth and width. For the sake of the alignment with the integration, we will use new forms of APL-CNC bill of lading and APL’s invoice WEF January 01, 2019. Other day-to-day working procedures including your contacts in our organization however will remain unchanged to eliminate any inconvenience arising from the merger.
