Anaar Catering – The Best Persian Food in Kuwait

Over the past few weeks or so I received a number of recommendations from my instagram followers on Anaar Catering. For those of you who have never heard of it, its basically authentic Persian catering service owned by Faridah Bakhtiar that delivers some of the best Persian food I have ever had. A couple weeks back I had Anaar cater a dinner for me and a few friends and was absolutely stunned with how delicious their food was. I called Anaar and I ended speaking with Faridah who was very helpful and was able to guide me through the order process. I was a little confused at first since I wasn’t familiar with the names of the Persian dishes but generically knew what I was looking for. Obviously Persian food is synonymous with grilled meat and heavy portions of rice and bread. During my phone call with Faridah, she was very patient and helped me decide on what dishes to choose from while being very professional and courteous. What I liked best was that they Faridah also called a couple days before the food was to be delivered to confirm my order and provided me with a my total bill. For those of you looking to order its important to remember that you need to provide at least a 24 hour notice before placing an order. When the food arrived the day of my dinner I was happy to see that all the dishes were in placed in large insulating containers that kept the food warm. This was especially convenient since although my guests arrived a different times the food remained warm. My order included the following: Anaar salad, a fresh salad with cucumbers, feta cheese, tomatoes walnuts pomegranate and special mustard dressing, koubideh (seasoned skewers of ground beef), albaloo polo ba gelegli, which was steamed rice with sour cherries and meatballs- one of my favorite dishes – just amazing with a great amount of flavor and cooked to perfection. I also ordered the steamed rice, grilled chicken, Kashk badenhjan ( sautéed eggplant, onion, garlic, creamy whey -dosed with fief onions and mint), bourani esfenaj (a yogurt mix with spinach, onion and garlic – my favorite dressing – I mixed this with everything for extra flavor) ghormeh sabzi (herbs cooked with lamb, kidney beans and dried lime) and gheymeh badenjan (eggplant with chick peas, lamb, tomatoes and lime). I was very impressed with the service from Anaar Cattering, the presentation of the food and the fact that everything was brought in insulated packaging to keep the food warm. Its really a pet peeve of my when I order food and delivered cold as it takes away from the experience and the taste. I thought that the salad had a great flavor and consistency. It was also wonderfully decorated. I also thought that the addition of the pomegranate gave it a nice sweet flavor which I normally wouldn’t like but found surprisingly taste. It deficient threw me out of my element and what I normally enjoy. Overall, I thought that the services where impeccable and the food was more than I expected. Moreover, they were very generous in the portions and allowed everyone to have seconds and even for some great leftovers for the next day :) . It was really one of best dinners I’ve had in Kuwait and recommend that everyone try Anaar Catering out- trust me, you will not be disappointed Anaar Catering Location: Salmiya, Baghdad St., Al-Khaled Complex, Phone Number: 25663555|25663666|90067676 Email: info@anaarcatering.com
